The Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve party -
The Kardashian-Jenner family are known for their Christmas Eve parties, with matriarch Kris Jenner and daughters Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall and Kylie dressing up for the occasion
Over the years, the reality television stars have shared countless photos of their holiday party outfits, which are anything but your average Fair Isle sweaters
From the mommy-and-me moments to over-the-top glam, the holiday looks are, by far, my favorite fashion moments every year
There are few things (in terms of pop culture) that I look forward to this time of year. One: rewatching Elf with a healthy supply of Pillsbury sugar cookies. Two: squeezing in my daily dose of vlogmas. And three: the Kardashian-Jenner Christmas party. Why the latter when I'm on the outside looking in? Let me explain.
Matriarch Kris Jenner and her family have been putting on their Christmas Eve parties since 1978, treating the night like their personal Super Bowl (they only skipped it twice in its nearly 50-year history!), and while the pure lavishness of the affairs might be a lot, c'mon, how can you not be engrossed by it all, especially when it comes to the fashion with a capital F?
As I scroll through Instagram the night of the party in my department store pajamas, I can't help but commend Kris and gang (read: her daughters Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall and Kylie) for actually treating their at-home get-togethers like a red carpet event.

I remember the absolute hold the Phoebe Philo dress Kendall wore last holiday had on me. Because, despite the family committing to what they consider downsizing with a more intimate gathering, it was the model who upped the dress code in a designer look that was all Old Hollywood glamour and no waistband (a very impressive choice for a Christmas dinner!).
But what I love most, especially coming from a household that is far from festive, is how the fashion has become multigenerational, just like the party itself.
In 2018, Khloé and Kylie twinned with their daughters True and Stormi in sweet mommy-and-me looks and all I could think was: Can you get more adorable than baby-size glamour? Kourtney has also made it a point to shine with her crew, including husband Travis Barker and her kids. In 2021, the Lemme founder swapped red plaid for red lace, with her daughter Penelope going for the same festive vibe in a cool plaid dress (my Aéropostale sweatsuits worn at that age could never compete). Kim also leaned into the whole "coordinating with your kids" trend in 2023, wrapping herself in a furry Mugler dress that complemented the outfits on North, Chicago, Saint and Psalm.
Honorable mention goes to Kris, without whom this fabulous tradition wouldn't exist. Suits (and suit-adjacent) looks may be the momager's signature, but the holiday — along with the Met Gala and Lauren Sànchez Bezos' wedding — is one of the only times we get to see the mom of six deliver some of her best gown moments.

You might think its over the top, and I have to agree — but that's what makes this fun! Winter is a bleak time of year, especially as it's when celebrities and their stylists hibernate until facing the heavy fashion demands of awards season head-on. Love it or hate it, you can't disagree that the Kardashian-Jenners channel a spirit of holiday fashion that's entertaining and hard to look away from. They know their brand — ultra-Hollywood, slightly ridiculous and always attention-grabbing.

This year, the family will host another low-key affair after ringing in Kris' 70th with a massive James Bond-inspired blowout in November (the matriarch, who wore a hot red 2002 Givenchy Haute Couture by Alexander McQueen gown for the event, loves a theme, as do I). But I'm sure there'll still be a gown — or six! — in the picture. If Kim's recent winter wonderland photo shoot (no doubt done in the name of being extra) is any indication, I bet we're in for a ride.
Maybe this time, their Oscars-level devotion to glam will inspire me to reshape my 2026 resolutions. Goal one: Glorify the power of the gown when the sweatpants are calling thy name.
