If you went feral over Sophie and Benedict’s bathtub sex scene in Bridgerton season 4, you’ll be happy to know that Yerin Ha hopes you can experience it yourself one day. When asked how she’d like to respond to the fans going crazy over the steamy bath, she told ELLE with a laugh, “I hope that they get their bathtub scene.” But she added a warning: “Just know that it might not be as glamorous as it looks.”

As with most intimate scenes filmed for the screen, the bath sequence was a lot more choreographed and technical than it appears in the finished product. (Elizabeth Talbot is credited as the intimacy coordinator for this particular Bridgerton episode.) Ha, for one, thought she was about to go under while filming. “That was a long bathtub, and Luke [Thompson, who plays Benedict] really had to grip me tight with his legs because I was about to drown.”

Thompson shared a similar anecdote with Refinery29, saying, “She kept floating down the river. We had to sort of brace a little bit.” He also recalled, “Well, that’s the other thing, it was so slippery. We were like two seals, because they kept pouring in this thing to make it milky, but I think it had oil in it.”

Changing positions was a challenge underwater too. “And then when I had to turn around, I was like, ‘How am I going to turn around without sliding off?’” Ha added to ELLE. However, the awkwardness ended up being a benefit to her and Thompson. “But because of those things, it actually made it a lot more fun, to be honest with you. We had a good laugh.”

Ha previously told Capital Breakfast that she had a skin reaction after filming the steamy bath scene, which took six hours to shoot.

“There’s a scene where we are in a bathtub and basically I put baby powder all on me because I was told it would help dry my skin to put the intimacy wear on with my tape,” she said. “And then basically the next day after the bathtub, I got hives all over my body, and I got folliculitis, so I and needed steroid cream! But I blame myself, because I think it was a combination of baby powder and the bath water. So it’s me, I’m a sensitive gal!”

Just a few things to keep in mind if you plan on trying this at home.
