Tim McGraw just teased new music with cryptic photos, and fans can't keep their cool.

On Friday, Jan. 16, the country music icon, 58, took to Instagram with a pair of photos and a short but impactful message, writing, "Back at it in the new year!"

In the featured image, McGraw chose a shot of a large room filled with drums, with amps, microphones and other percussion instruments visible. A second picture showed a close-up of a microphone with a sheet of paper that read "Pawn Shop Guitar" and the word "Verse" before it cut off.

Audrey McGraw, 24—his youngest of three daughters with his wife, Faith Hill, 58—wrote, "Wooohooo. Additionally, Tim's middle daughter, Maggie McGraw, 27, shared, "#drums." (He and Faith also share a third daughter, Gracie McGraw, 28.)

Followers immediately guessed that a new song was on the way, with one Instagram user declaring, "Can’t wait to hear this one !! šŸŽø."

Another fan wrote, "Now that’s a sight!šŸ”„ā¤ļøšŸ„. Excited for you."

Someone else requested, "MORE MUSIC🄺. Can we have a new duet with Faith, please?"

A different follower lamented, "You can’t just casually drop this, sir 😭," in response to the tease with little context and no timeline.

Meanwhile, yet another Instagram user commented, "Finally!! ā€˜Pawn Shop Guitar’ already sounds like it’s in line with your 2020s music. Especially ā€˜Poet’s Resume’ vibe (the whole EP, but the song too)."

On Facebook, many others rejoiced over the promise of a new song from McGraw, with one exclaiming, "New music? AWESOME!!"

A second user predicted, "Whatever it is, I'll bet it's fantastic!" as a third person echoed, "YES!! Best news."

"Can't wait for the new music! šŸ’•," yet another Facebook user shared.

In June, McGraw announced he was working on a new album during his performance at Music City Rodeo in Nashville, Tenn.—his first concert after experiencing major health struggles. He sang a new song, "King Rodeo," at the concert, releasing a live recording of it in August.

McGraw debuted another new song, "Different," in December, when he stepped in to fill in for Dolly Parton's Las Vegas residency.

As of writing, McGraw has neither announced a name for his upcoming album nor revealed a release date.
