After a Texas dad ended up in the hospital on the day of his sonâs wedding, the couple decided to bring the ceremony to him.
On Friday, Feb. 20, staff at St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan, Texas, shared that they played a role in helping two lovebirds, Chase and Bobbi Sue, tie the knot right next to one of their patientâs hospital beds after discovering that the groomâs dad had become too ill to attend their wedding ceremony.
âEarlier this week, we had the pleasure of being part of something incredibly special,â the hospital wrote on Instagram alongside a pair of photos from the bedside ceremony. âOur CCU patient was unable to attend his son's wedding, so his family brought the wedding to him, with our very own Chaplain Scott officiating!â
In one photo from the heartfelt moment, the bride holds her father-in-lawâs hand and poses next to his hospital bed alongside her new husband and a dozen of their closest family and friends who also made their way to the health center for the intimate ceremony.
Another snap also shows the couple holding hands in the corner of the room as Chaplain Scott stands nearby, ready to officially declare them husband and wife.

âIt was an honor to witness this beautiful ceremony,â the hospital continued in the post. âOur staff even pulled together a small reception to celebrate their joyful union. Congratulations to Chase and Bobbi Sue and their amazing family!â

A similar ceremony recently took place in Massachusetts when a couple, Josh Kipnis and Arianna Lacerte, became determined to fast-track their wedding to ensure that the brideâs father, Ed Lacerte, would be able to watch her say âI doâ after being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Acute Monocytic Leukemia.
"Weâll both never forget the look on Edâs face when we told him we were going to get married in the hospital," the couple told PEOPLE in December. "His eyes shot wide open, and as he was holding both of our hands, he just said, 'That would be so wonderful.' "
"We couldnât imagine expressing our love in a more powerful way," they added.
