Shane Richie and former wife Christie Goddard have found a buyer for the five-bedroom Surrey home they shared before ending their 19-year marriage.

The Reigate property was marketed for £1.75 million in March and is now listed as “sold subject to contract,” according to the Daily Mail. The status means an offer has been accepted but contracts have not yet been exchanged and the transaction is not legally complete. The eventual sale price has not been disclosed.

Richie and Goddard bought the house in 2008, one year after their wedding. Goddard confirmed that their divorce was finalized on July 23 when The Sun approached her at the property in August.

Six days after the divorce was finalized, Richie was arrested in Essex and was subsequently charged with drink-driving. The house had already been on the market for approximately four months by then.

The House Went on the Market Months Before the Divorce Became Public

The former couple listed the property in March, months before news of their divorce emerged publicly. An unnamed source quoted by The Sun said it took several months to secure a buyer and that Richie and Goddard hoped to move into separate homes during 2026 if the transaction proceeded smoothly.

“No divorce is pretty but they've tried to be as amicable as possible for their children,” the source said. Richie and Goddard share three children.

Some coverage has described Richie as being “forced” to sell the home, but no identified source has established that he was compelled to do so.

Christie Confirmed Their 19-Year Marriage Had Ended

Richie and Goddard began dating in 2001 after meeting while working in separate pantomimes. They became engaged in 2005 and married in July 2007.

When The Sun asked Goddard whether their divorce had been finalized, she answered, “Yes,” before adding, “I don't want to comment, thank you.”

Richie Is Due in Court on a Drink-Driving Charge

Essex Police said officers were called to reports of a suspected drink-driver in the Church Langley Way area of Harlow shortly before 11:20 p.m. on July 29. Richie, whose legal name is Shane Roche, was arrested after officers arrived.

A drink-driving charge was subsequently authorized against him, according to an Essex Police statement reported by ITV News. The charge remains pending, and Richie is due to appear at Colchester Magistrates' Court on Sept. 9.

Richie has continued working as Alfie Moon on EastEnders while awaiting his first court appearance in the case. He was photographed back on the show's set in August, days after news of his divorce became public.
