Jake Reiner made his first public appearances since the death of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.
On Tuesday, June 23, the actor and podcaster, 35, stepped out for the red carpet premiere of HBO's Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, created by Larry David — a close friend of his late parents — and later teased a possible appearance on the comedy series.
"Attended the premiere of Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness this week. Comes out Friday on @hbo @hbomax, look out for me in the first episode 🫡 🇺🇸," he wrote on Instagram, alongside photos of himself on the red carpet, where he kept things simple in a black blazer, black pants and a gray T-shirt.

Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, were found dead in their Brentwood, Calif., home in December 2025. Their younger son Nick, 32, was arrested roughly six hours later and later charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with their deaths.
Nick has pleaded not guilty. The L.A. County district attorney is also pursuing a murder conviction with “special circumstances,” a designation that could make Nick eligible for the death penalty or life in prison without parole.
Rob and Michele also shared daughter Romy, 28. Rob shared daughter Tracey, 61, with his first wife, the late Penny Marshall.
Jake recently opened up about the tragedy in a candid personal essay on Substack in April.

Jake was in Union Station celebrating the life of one of his best friends who died that October when he got the call from his sister that his parents were dead, he wrote.
"The 45-minute Lyft ride from downtown to the west side was unendurable. My world, as I knew it, had collapsed. I was in a trance," he wrote. "The only thing I could focus on was that I needed to get to my childhood home. I needed to get to my sister. I needed to figure out what the hell just happened."

Reflecting on the harrowing night, Jake said that he feels he was "robbed of so many things that day."
"My parents won't be at my wedding, they won't get to hold their future grandchild, and they won't get to see me have the successful career I'm still seeking," he wrote. "It simultaneously breaks my heart and enrages me.""Nothing can prepare you for what it feels like to lose both parents instantly at the same time," Jake continued. "It's too devastating to comprehend. I still wake up every morning having to convince myself that, no, it's not a dream. This truly is my living nightmare."
Jake went on to praise the late couple, who he said sit at the "center of my life" as his "guiding lights."
"They are my guiding lights, the foundation of who I am as a human being, and the most giving people I have ever known," he wrote. "A lot of people don't have the luxury of having the best parents, the best mom, or the best dad, but I did. The love they have for me, my brother, and my sister is truly unconditional. And the love they have for each other in their marriage is something I always looked up to as the standard of what a successful relationship looks like."
