Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly surprised everyone by taking a trip abroad. The couple visited Jordan with a group from the World Health Organization for humanitarian work.

While they are known for their charitable efforts, this time they informed Buckingham Palace about their trip beforehand to avoid an “awkward” clash with Prince William, who also visited the Middle East recently.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are always in the spotlight for their charitable and humanitarian work. However, Mirror reports that this time, they informed Buckingham Palace in advance about their trip.

Harry and Markle have reportedly faced criticism for allegedly overshadowing other royals during prominent trips in the past. Prince William, too, visited the Middle East a few weeks ago. Jennie Bond, the former BBC royal correspondent, believes that it looks like the Sussexes want to have a “collaborative approach.”

She said, “I understand that they gave advanced notice of this trip to Buckingham Palace, so it is encouraging that they seem to be trying to coordinate with the royal diaries.” Bond continued, “It might have been awkward if this visit had come before William’s trip to Saudi Arabia, but by going afterwards it seems to me that Harry and Meghan are showing they are now sensitive to potential clashes.”

While this time Harry and Markle informed in advance about their trip, it stirred debate when it was revealed that they met with the British ambassador to Jordan. However, Bond believes that there is absolutely no reason why they should not meet with people or visit places if they can “do some good.” She further added that “if people want to dub it a quasi-royal tour, then frankly that’s their problem.”
