In a blog post titled "Getting ducks in a row" for her Substack Beau Society, the pregnant Sinners actress, 29, wrote about how she's preparing to welcome her first baby with her husband, Josh Allen. Steinfeld said that as she was sitting in her family room this week, the "reality that our little family is about to grow" started to set in.
"Of course, I have all the to-do lists (which you know I love), and I've been busy with research and the general life reorganization that happens when you're about to have a baby," Steinfeld wrote. "But the most profound and grounding part of getting ready for this baby has been the introspective side of it: the quiet conversations I'm having with myself almost every day."

Steinfeld said that sometimes she's asking herself bigger questions like what she's going to be like as a mom, while other times she's daydreaming about what their life is going to look like.
"While tuning in, I've experienced this surreal, full-body awareness that our world is about to expand in beautiful ways. We're getting ready to meet someone we already love so much," she said. "I've racked my brain for words to describe that feeling, and I don't have them yet. Maybe that's the point. For now, I'm blessed to be settling into the feeling."
Steinfeld went on to say that she's fully in the process of nesting and has loved putting together her little one's nursery.

"I've gone back and forth on tiny details more than I care to admit (why is choosing a rocking chair this emotional?) but seeing it all slowly come together has made our new life feel more tangible," the star wrote. "Emphasis on 'slowly' coming together — it's all still very much a work in progress."
She said that between all the different ways she's been organizing things, she's starting to feel a little more prepared to have a newborn in the house. Steinfeld also added that her mom threw her a baby shower recently, which for her "added to the 'this is really happening feeling.'"
In January, Steinfeld's NFL star husband Allen, 29, spoke in a press conference after the Buffalo Bills introduced Joe Brady as their new head coach. After giving Brady his full support, Allen was asked what his offseason will look like as he prepared to welcome his first baby.
"I mean, to the best of our abilities," Allen said when asked if they would try to map things out. "But I've known this from well in advance. I've got siblings that have kids, I've got a lot of friends that have kids. I don't know if you can plan too far in advance."
"So I'm very much looking forward to that with my wife, of becoming a dad," he continued. "It's something that I will take with great pride. And we're going to have to figure things out on the go, just like anything else."
"But this is the most important thing I'll ever be in my life, being a dad. And I know I love being a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. But I'm looking forward to this one."
