Nicola Coughlan shared a rare glimpse into her relationship with boyfriend Jake Dunn, opening up about the time they spent together while she filmed her upcoming movie, The Magic Faraway Tree, in Malta.
"It’s a very happy memory, that time. It was lovely," Coughlan said during her new interview with E! News.
The Bridgerton alum also recalled how Dunn joined her on location during a break from filming and decided to stay for the remainder of her time there.

The 39-year-old actress opened up about her 26-year-old partner, explaining how he accompanied her while she worked overseas.
"He actually was in Malta the whole time I was filming, so I can’t complain," Coughlan told the outlet.
"He came for a visit and then stayed. He was on a break from filming at that time. He’s like, 'I think I’m gonna stay.' I was like, 'Yeah, stay!'" she added.
The actress also recalled how the atmosphere on set made the experience especially memorable. Her costars, including Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy, also brought their loved ones to Malta while working on the film.
"There was lots of little kids there, husbands, wives, friends," the Goat star said.
Coughlan and the My Brilliant Career actor were romantically linked in August 2024, though they largely kept their relationship away from the spotlight.

Coughlan later spoke about the experience during a December 2025 interview with The Guardian, reflecting on the attention surrounding her personal life.
"Imagine if you had an evening at the pub and then you walked around, talking, having a lovely time. And a few days later, you see pictures of that. The violation is immense," she said.

Before those photographs surfaced, The Derry Girls actress and Dunn were also seen together at the All Points East music festival in London in August 2024, perDaily Mail.

Coughlan also revealed one particularly specific preference when it came to dating.
"When guys want to do a joker impression," she said.
"Just don’t … do that. That’s just an immediate ick and it’s never good. I know that’s very specific," she continued.
