Miley Cyrus is the betting favorite to headline the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show. But does she want to do it?

Immediately after Bad Bunny's historic halftime performance in February, betting sites began looking ahead to which artist might take the stage for Super Bowl LXI. Various names were thrown around, from Taylor Swift and Cardi B to Drake and Justin Bieber, but Cyrus' name stood out among the bunch, a fact that hasn't escaped her.

While the Grammy winner was careful to play coy about the possibility during a conversation with *Variety*, she did express interest in the gig — assuming she can put together the perfect setlist.

"I always think the Super Bowl feels like too much pressure," Cyrus said when the subject came up. "I would have to do the mental work of making it not about the Super Bowl, because then you can’t help but go, 'It’s millions of people, and it’s the most-watched thing in the world.'"

Referencing her recent concert to mark the 20th anniversary of *Hannah Montana*, the Disney Channel series that launched her career, she added, "But if I could find a way to make it exactly what the Hannahversary was — taking a journey through the discography and appreciating each song, each era for what it is — I think I could find it in myself."

In other words, if Cyrus does accept an offer to perform at next year's Super Bowl, fans might just get a cameo from Hannah Montana herself.

Thus far, the closest Cyrus has gotten to the Super Bowl halftime show was in 2021 when she headlined the TikTok Tailgate at Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Fla. The pregame performance saw her join forces with '80s music icon Billy Idol to perform their collab, "Night Crawling." She also sung several of her own songs and covered hits like Dolly Parton's "Jolene" and Blondie's "Heart of Glass." All the while, Cyrus was decked out in a cheerleader-inspired skirt and matching top.

A Super Bowl halftime show performance from Cyrus would be significant for another reason: over the past few years, fans haven't had many opportunities to see the "Flowers" singer perform live. While Cyrus continues to take the stage for awards shows, festivals, one-off events, and intimate private concerts at L.A.’s Chateau Marmont, she hasn't paired an album with live shows since her 2014 Bangerz Tour. Last year, she clarified that this decision is a matter of preference rather than an issue of her physical capabilities. But that doesn't mean she's planning a stadium tour any time soon.

"I actually miss and love live shows,” Cyrus told *Variety*. "But me being on the road for six months out of the year and leaving my family and my normalcy and my routine is just not best for me."

The singer added that she used to struggle with stage fright and often endured nerves that would take "over my entire body." But Cyrus shared that she has since had luck with EMDR, a type of psychotherapy based on guided eye movement, which helped her confront the source of her anxiety.

Cyrus will be back on stage in the *Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special* set to arrive on Disney+ on March 24.
