Michigan sophomore quarterback Bryce Underwood, running back Jordan Marshall, safety Rod Moore and defensive tackle Trey Pierce are the Wolverines captains this season after a vote by the team.

Underwood, who started last year as a freshman, is the Wolverines’ first sophomore to be voted captain, and Marshall the first junior — both represent the offense. Moore is a three-time captain, and this is the first time Pierce has been voted captain.

The captains were announced Monday night. Michigan is in preseason camp preparing for the season which opens Sept. 5 against Western Michigan.

Buchanan, defensive tackle Enow Etta and offensive linemen Blake Frazier, Jake Guarnera and Andrew Sprague, and cornerback Jyaire Hill.
