Livvy Dunne is trading her purple LSU Tigers leotard for a red swimsuit as she jumps onto the small screen.
The former collegiate gymnast has been training for her acting debut as she enters a new spotlight in the upcoming "Baywatch" reboot series.
"I've always loved performing and I'm a perfectionist. I mean, as a gymnast, you're always striving for that perfect score. And I [thought] this would be such a fun lane to go in and navigate because I've always been interested in acting, but being a student athlete at school, there's only so much time you have a day," Dunne tells USA TODAY.
Since graduating from Louisiana State University in 2024, she's been taking acting classes "very seriously" as she perfects her new craft.
Livvy Dunne says 'Baywatch' is just the start of her acting career
The 23-year-old athlete and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model says her journey has consisted of many self-taped auditions and rejections, making the moment she landed "Baywatch" a special victory.
"To be able to even get one 'yes,' it's huge," she says.
The modern Fox show, slated to premiere later in 2026, will consist of 12 episodes and follow an ensemble including Stephen Amell, Shay Mitchell, and more.

"Everybody knows 'Baywatch.' It's an iconic franchise from years and years ago," she says. "So to be able to be part of this new ensemble and to be surrounded by such talented actors and actresses. I mean, I get to learn from a Hassie Harrison, Shay Mitchell every day on set, that's huge."
While her current focus is on the lifeguard drama series, Dunne says she would love to act in a horror film in the future, revealing she's submitted a few self-tapes for a project in the genre: "I think that would be a fun challenge, and I don't know, fingers crossed."
As for actors that she would love to work with, Dunne says she looks up to the "phenomenal" Julia Roberts, who "really paved the way for so many female actresses." She also wouldn't hesitate for the opportunity to share the screen with "Outer Banks" star Madelyn Cline, whom she's previously been told she shares a resemblance to.

Dunne thrives on being swamped, regularly traveling coast to coast between shoots and MLB games to support her boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes.
She maintains an active social media presence, regularly posting for her 13 million followers across TikTok and Instagram, posting a range of lifestyle and comedic content, often of her cheering on Skenes at different games. She also finds time for brand deals, collaborating with Motorola and American Eagle, but her latest partnership with Miller Lite holds a special place for her.
Through the partnership, Dunne introduced a limited-edition Miller Tea Time set, which includes a custom-designed tea kettle with a built-in beer-puncturing mechanism. Dunne said she and Skenes were both excited by the brand deal due to the pair's love for the beer.
"Miller Light has always been my go-to drink ever since I turned 21. Whether I'm at the bar or at a baseball game, I genuinely love it," she said. "I honestly think that it's also a bit of a power move as well. You don't really see girls drinking beer that much, and I think that it's such a cool girl drink."
