Lana Del Rey’s ex-fiancé is turning to The Bachelorette to find love again.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Clayton Johnson, one of the men set to appear in Taylor Frankie Paul’s upcoming 22nd season of the hit ABC series, was previously engaged to the “Summertime Sadness" artist, 40.
Johnson was first linked to Del Rey when they began following each other on Instagram in August 2020. Sources told PEOPLE at the time that the former couple met on a dating app.

Not long after, fans noticed that Del Rey appeared to be wearing a diamond on her ring finger in a photo of her and Johnson on Halloween. She was once again wearing the ring while performing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in December 2020.
While Del Rey didn't confirm the news, sources told PEOPLE that the pair were engaged. They eventually went their separate ways, but it's unclear exactly when they split.
Also a musician, Johnson was a vocalist and guitarist in the band The Johnsons, where he used to sing pop-tinged tracks alongside his brothers, Chantry and Connor. The trio — originally from Modesto, California — last released a song called "Call Whenever" in June 2017 on SoundCloud.

In ABC’s official casting announcement for The Bachelorette, Johnson is described as a 36-year-old singer/songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee.

“Clayton is a true Southern gentleman who just hasn’t found the right one yet,” his bio reads. “This talented musician is searching for a love that’s loyal, nurturing, and built to last a lifetime. When he’s not writing or recording music, Clayton enjoys escaping the city to spend time in nature with his dog, Oliver.
"Clayton is caring, attentive, and more than willing to go above and beyond for the woman he loves," the description continues. "He once even handmade a scrapbook filled with his favorite shared memories. Clayton calls himself a lover boy and is ready to write love songs for the woman of his dreams. He’s beyond excited to meet Taylor and has romantic surprises already planned for her.”
It further states that he “LOVES flower bouquets,” “enjoys a good trail ride on horseback” and has visited every continent besides Antarctica.
This isn’t the first time Del Rey has been connected to Bachelor Nation — in a 2023 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she revealed that The Bachelor is her “favorite TV show.” She is also a fan of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which Paul starred on, even appearing in an episode of the Hulu show when she met several of the cast members backstage at Stagecoach music festival in Indio, Calif., in 2025.

The Bachelorette premieres on Sunday, March 22, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu.
