Key running back target picks ACC rival over Florida State
The FSU Seminoles had a ton of momentum when it came to landing 2027 three-star running back Marquis Fennell, as they held the only prediction to land him. Unfortunately for them, he won't be coming to Tallahassee.
In a shocking turn of events, Fennell has committed to the Stanford Cardinal after they made a late push. They beat out Florida State, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and the Colorado Buffaloes for the Valdosta, Georgia, product.
He's the No. 629 player in the country and the No. 40 athlete per 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Georgia, he's listed as the No. 75 prospect.
Fennell is a dynamic weapon that can be featured as a runner and a pass catcher. He racked up 1,480 yards rushing with 23 rushing touchdowns, plus he added 764 receiving yards on 53 receptions with 10 more scores.

This has still been an exceptional week for the Seminoles in terms of acquiring talent. They landed three-star linebacker CJ Ohuabunwa on Monday, who shut down his recruitment, and four-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune, who committed on Wednesday. However, missing on Fennell is a big loss.
The biggest target that's still out there for Florida State is four-star safety Ta'Shawn Poole, who is set to commit in the near future. They're battling the Georgia Bulldogs for his commitment.
