In case you weren’t paying attention, last night was the annual State of the Union address in our nation’s capital. On The View this morning, host Joy Behar had some feelings about not only Donald Trump, but his Vice President JD Vance and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson as well.

“I was physically ill from it and more nauseous than usual watching him,” she said. “The way he was demonizing immigrants made me sick … I was saying to my husband, what makes this country great? What made it great and different from other countries … is we welcomed immigrants in this country.”

After explaining that her own family left Italy because “there was no work” for them there, she added, “It made me feel really sad. That’s the reason America has been what it is. I don’t want to make a speech, but I was furious and scared, as the ‘Bert and Ernie’ kept jumping up and down behind him.”

“Every time he lied, ‘The economy is great,’ these idiots would be [going], ‘Yay!’” she continued. “‘Everything’s great, immigrants are the problem.’ ‘Yay!’ … It was sickening to watch.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin also admitted to watching “the whole thing,” while texting Joy the entire time. “I almost fell asleep because it was so boring actually,” she confessed. “But I think that’s what got to me, as well. That demonization of the entire Somali population.”

“That was disgraceful,” Sunny added. “Language matters. The saying that people are ‘illegal,’ ‘illegal aliens,’ that really matters. We haven’t used that term for so long. Now it’s back in vogue. You are not illegal as a human being just because you’re undocumented. So that for me felt dehumanizing to our immigrant population.”

Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg shared that she “had a great time” watching Bob’s Burgers last night. Although at 8 pm, she said she was “forced to watch” Trump’s address and “watched the whole thing.” That took a while, since Trump’s SOTU last night was the longest on record.
