The duo tells PEOPLE their New Year’s resolutions involve deep cleaning: Rudd’s closet and Black’s “man cave”

Black is resolving to “get under and in betwixt every nook and cranny of that mo-fo”

Paul Rudd and Jack Black know their priorities going into 2026.

When PEOPLE asks the two stars of Anaconda (in theaters now) for their New Year’s resolutions — as Black, 56, calls them, “New Year's rezzies” — their minds go to household chores.

“I'm going to clean out the man cave, once and for all,” says Black. “It's getting pretty dank down there.”

The room in question gets “the occasional scrub-a-dub-dub,” continues the A Minecraft Movie star, “but it needs that deep clean, where you get under and in betwixt every nook and cranny of that mo-fo.”

“You got to keep that thing sparkling,” agrees Rudd, 56. “I will probably do my closet. By the way, I'm a big fan of cleaning.”

In fact, Rudd lights up talking about his “Brother P-Touch label maker,” which he’s utilized to clean his attic. (The Ant-Man star resides in Rhinebeck, N.Y. with wife Julie Yaeger and their kids Jack and Darby).

“I built shelves, and all of my storage, I have in tubs that are clear that you can see through them,” he says of his attic. “All of my s--- is so organized, it's a little OCD… If I'm in the middle of really tackling a cleaning project, I'm very happy.”

Black (who lives in Los Angeles with wife Tanya Haden and kids Sammy and Tommy) sees the value in crossing chores off the to-do list: “That feels so good when it's done.”

The Tom Gormican-directed Anaconda stars the two pals alongside Steve Zahn and Thandiwe Newton as a group of amateur filmmakers traveling to the Amazon jungle to reboot the titular creature feature that starred starred Ice Cube and Jennifer Lopez back in 1977. “It's these friends that are going out to make their dreams come true,” Black tells PEOPLE. “And that's how I feel every time I go out to make a movie.”

Anaconda, also costarring Daniela Melchior and Selton Mello, is in theaters now. In the new year, Rudd’s screen projects include returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Doomsday (in theaters Dec. 18, 2026), while Black’s include The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (in theaters April 3, 2026) and Jumanji 3 (in theaters Dec. 11, 2026).
