Glenn Close is presenting at the BAFTAs today, and while she may not be taking home a trophy herself, the star brought her signature style on the red carpet.
Close attended the event in an elegant yet eye-catching black and silver set from Erdem.

The look featured a boxy-cut jacket in an inky black shade, accented around the hemline and cuffs with a cascade of shimmering silver floral embroidery. The embellishment continued onto the midi skirt, which featured the flowers running down a central seam, then continuing asymmetrically along one side of the skirt for a touch of modern edge. Close completed the style with a simple floral brooch at her lapel, petite stud earrings, and black flats with more silver florals at the toe. She likewise carried a matching clutch purse with a bejeweled silver ball clasp.

No stranger to the BAFTAs, Close has twice been nominated for her acting work at the awards—once in 1990 for the film Dangerous Liaisons where she played the Machiavellian Marquise de Merteuil opposite John Malcovich and Michelle Pfeiffer, and again in 2019 for her turn in The Wife as the spouse of a Nobel Prize winner questioning her life choices.

It’s been a very fashionable day for Close, who hit the red carpet after stopping by the Erdem runway show (sensing a theme?) earlier for London Fashion Week. The quick-change artist stuck with a floral theme at Erdem, donning a navy overcoat patterned with blue and white flowers, a pale blue button down, and navy point-toe shoes.
