- A 13-year-old exited a ride at Disneyland on Sunday in the middle of the attraction’s route just prior to a sharp drop.
- The teen slid 52 feet down the water flume on Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
- The boy was reportedly evaluated at a local hospital and later released.
A 13-year-old Disneyland guest reportedly climbed out of a moving ride and slid down a 52-foot drop, according to others who claimed to have witnessed the incident in person.
Disneyland officials told **’s sister publication, PEOPLE, that the teen climbed out of a boat Sunday while riding the popular Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction shortly before the log flume’s route sends guests down a roughly five-story drop.
A cast member working the attraction immediately stopped the ride, per Disneyland representatives. The teen continued along a portion of the ride’s course, however, and was eventually assisted by other cast members.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure operates similar iterations — though not 100 percent identical — at both Disneyland park and Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.
Both rides feature extensive theming and animatronics modeled after the 2009 animated hit *The Princess and the Frog*, which follows the story of Disney’s first-ever Black princess, Tiana.

The attractions opened in Florida and California in June and November 2024, respectively, after extensive refurbishments saw the removal of problematic theming tied to the 1946 film *Song of the South* that was implemented when the rides initially opened under the name Splash Mountain. Disneyland’s iteration opened first in 1989, followed by Magic Kingdom’s in 1992.
In 2023, just before the Magic Kingdom version closed for its *Princess and the Frog *revamp, another guest jumped out of a boat mid-ride amid what was reported at the time as a panic attack.
