Demi Lovato is enjoying a "full circle" moment working with Vanessa Hudgens on a new venture.
Lovato, 33, is currently working with beverage brand Caliwater, co-founded by Hudgens, 37, and Oliver Trevena, to launch its new Blood Orange flavor, and the partnership marks a collaboration between two stars who both rose to fame on Disney Channel.
"It's really cool and full circle to be able to work with [Hudgens] after getting both of our starts on Disney Channel," the Camp Rock alum tells PEOPLE of the High School Musical actress. "I love that we're able to work together on this. We're having so much fun."
Hudgens starred as Gabriella Montez in the High School Musical franchise, which launched with its first of three films in 2006. Two years later, Lovato played Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock and reprised the role in a 2010 sequel.
Was there ever a rivalry between the two casts? "I don't think so," says Lovato, an executive producer on the upcoming Camp Rock 3.

"If anything, I think everyone from Camp Rock really had a lot of respect and if anything, looked up to the people that were in the High School Musical because they kind of paved the way for musicals on the Disney Channel," she adds.
Despite their pasts on the same network, Lovato's partnership with Caliwater is their first official collaboration. "I've loved Caliwater since the beginning," says the "Fast" singer of the flavored cactus water beverage.
"Cactus water is so amazing because it's rich in antioxidants, it's very hydrating, it's got a lot of electrolytes," adds Lovato. "It's great for me because I'm about to go on tour, and I'll need to hydrate my body, stay hydrated, and it's going to be perfect for that."

Lovato is gearing up for her upcoming It's Not That Deep Tour, kicking off in April, and she's just starting to think about the must-have items for her backstage rider. "I have snacks that are going to keep me fueled," she says. "Definitely Caliwater, of course."
"I definitely will have a humidifier on the road. That keeps my voice in tip-top shape," continues Lovato, who confirms with a laugh that her rider doesn't feature anything as ultra-specific as Van Halen's memorable "no brown M&Ms" request. "I don't have any items that are too difficult to find."
