Connie Britton Reveals Her Wedding Must-Haves Ahead of Nuptials to Fiancé David Windsor

Connie Britton gave an update on wedding planning and shared her wedding must-haves in a new interview

PEOPLE confirmed Britton's engagement to David Windsor in October 2025

The couple have been in a relationship for about six years

Connie Britton is preparing to tie the knot.

While chatting with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of the HBO original comedy series Rooster in New York City on Tuesday, March 3, the actress, 58, gave an update on her wedding planning progress with her fiancé, David Windsor, and shared a few of her big day must-haves.

"We're very chill, we're just kind of like, 'We'll be engaged for a while.' We're not in any rush. Booked and busy," Britton said. "And also, we just were like, 'It's fun to be engaged.' But we're busy and we've got kids and getting kids through school, and so, yeah."

She continued, "We're a little bit more, like, 'I don't know, what do we want? Do we even need a wedding?' We're just committed to each other, so we'll see."

Britton adopted her teenage son, Yoby, from Ethiopia when he was 9 months old in November 2011. Windsor also has children from a previous relationship, but has kept his family details private.

While Britton told the outlet that she "hopes" she and Windsor are focused on the right thing, she admits that "a lot of friends" are telling them, "We need a party. Let's go."

But in order for that to happen, the Friday Night Lights alum has a few wedding non-negotiables. "Just music and the most wonderful, loving people around me, and so much laughter, and so much fun," she said.

During her appearance on Today in December 2025, the Nashville star said she was taking wedding planning "nice and slow," noting that she and her fiancé are "just enjoying an engagement for a while."

PEOPLE confirmed in October 2025 that Britton and Windsor, who have been together for about six years, were engaged. Amid the news, the couple were photographed kissing at LAX Airport in Los Angeles. At the time, Britton was wearing a ring on her left-hand ring finger.

Britton first crossed paths with the producer at a mutual friend's 50th birthday party in November 2019. The Dirty John actress revealed during an appearance on SiriusXM's Radio Andy that they were "set up."

Speaking to Parade last March, Britton shared how she knew Windsor was "the one."

"What I was really looking for was a partnership where there's constant growth, on both sides, and a sort of deepening of each other," she said. "It’s not just like, ‘Oh, I found true love.’ It’s that I found somebody who I can walk on a journey with that is going to be constantly ever-changing."

Rooster premieres Sunday, March 8, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and HBO Max, with new episodes dropping weekly on Sundays.
