Never say never. Actress Bridget Fonda might just be making her Hollywood comeback.

After retiring from acting in 2001, Fonda, 62, has led a private life alongside her husband, Danny Elfman, and their son, Oliver Elfman, only occasionally being photographed by paparazzi.

One of her more recent public sightings was in November 2025 in Los Angeles.

“She’s feeling really energized again. She’s lost a lot of weight and really turned her health around. Her son is an adult now, so she has time to devote to herself and her own interests again, and her heart has been drawn back to acting,” a source told Closer Weekly in a piece published on Friday, February 20.

“She’s got incredible talent, so it’s not going to be hard for her to get cast. It’s a matter of her finding the right project,” the insider added. “The fact that she’s open to it has shocked a lot of people because it really seemed like she was done for good.”

A rep for Fonda did not immediately respond to Parade's request for comment.

Fonda, the daughter of actor Peter Fonda and actress Susan Fonda, is best known for her roles as Nancy in Single White Female, Lisa in Point of No Return, and Connie in Jackie Brown.

Fonda's last on-screen appearance was in a 2002 television show called Snow Queen. Fonda also suffered a serious car accident in 2003 that left her with fractures to two thoracic vertebrae, further cementing her decision to step away from the spotlight.

In addition to her parents being Hollywood royalty, Fonda’s aunt is two-time Academy Award winner and activist Jane Fonda, and her grandfather is Henry Fonda, a legendary talent across generations.
