He has an Emmy and Golden Globe for his role as Kendall Roy on Succession and a Tony Award for his performance in the 2024 Broadway revival of An Enemy of the People. He earned a 2025 Golden Globe nomination for playing New York attorney Roy Cohn in The Apprentice (2024) and is slated to star in James Gray’s upcoming crime drama Paper Tiger alongside Anne Hathaway and Adam Driver.

In addition to hosting American Idol, the former Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host replaced Pat Sajak as the host of Wheel of Fortune in September 2024. Empire co-creator Lee Daniels was born on Christmas Eve in 1959. The producer, screenwriter and director, known for such films as Precious (2009), The Paperboy (2012) and The Butler (2013), also directed the 2021 biographical drama The United States vs. Billie Holiday and executive produced the ABC reboot of The Wonder Years. After Daniels' feud with Precious star Mo'Nique, the two reconciled and teamed up for the horror movies The Reading (2023) and The Deliverance (2024).

Actress and singer Ava Gardner was the star of her family's Christmas Eve when she was born in 1922. Gardner was notable in Hollywood for such films as Mogambo (1953), The Barefoot Contessa (1954) and On the Beach (1959), as well as for her high-profile relationships, including her tumultuous marriage to Frank Sinatra. The actress died from bronchial pneumonia on Jan. 25, 1990.

Jimmy Buffett was born on Christmas Day in 1946 and died a "Margaritaville" legend at the age of 76 on Sept. 1, 2023. The sun-kissed anthem, off the 1977 album Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes, skyrocketed Buffett's career and led to a business of the same name featuring everything from resorts and restaurants to apparel and drinks.

The "Cheeseburger in Paradise" singer released more than 30 albums throughout his career and was also a massive concert draw, with annual shows with his Coral Reefer Band raking in millions.

Ricky Martin was born in Puerto Rico on Dec. 24, 1971, and has been "Livin' La Vida Loca" ever since. Martin, who started as a member of the boy band Menudo before his rise on the Billboard charts, came out as gay in 2010. He became a single father to twins Matteo and Valentino, born via surrogate in 2008.

In 2017, Martin married artist Jwan Yosef, and the couple welcomed two children together, daughter Lucia and son Renn, via surrogate just nine months apart the following year. In July 2023, Martin and Yosef announced they were divorcing after six years of marriage. The next year, the singer returned to acting in the Apple TV+ drama series, Palm Royale.

Actress Sissy Spacek was born in Texas on Christmas Day in 1949. The Carrie (1976) star has received six Academy Award nominations, earning an Oscar in 1981 for her portrayal of Loretta Lynn in Coal Miner's Daughter.

The three-time Golden Globe winner also has two daughters, Schuyler and Madison Fisk, with her longtime husband, production designer Jack Fisk.

Model Helena Christensen took her first turn down the catwalk when she was born on Christmas Day in 1968 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The popular '90s supermodel — who starred in the 1991 music video for Chris Isaak's "Wicked Games" — appeared in fashion campaigns for Chanel, Versace and Valentino and was a Victoria's Secret Angel.

Christensen's son, Mingus, whom she shares with ex Norman Reedus, followed in his mom's modeling footsteps.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was born on Christmas Day in 1971. Trudeau, who has been in office since 2015, announced his separation from his wife, Sophie Grégoire, in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The couple shares three children: Xavier James, Hadrien and Ella-Grace.

Amaury Nolasco was born in Puerto Rico on Dec. 24, 1970 (just in time for the island's legendary Nochebuena celebrations) and gained fame through his breakout role on Prison Break in 2005, returning for the show's 2017 revival. He frequently acts in TV shows (including recently on Hightown) and runs a production company that is producing the next Woody Allen film in 2026, according to his social media.

On his 54th birthday in 2024, Nolasco wrote on Instagram, "Today I woke up, once again so grateful for the life that I’ve had. So many beautiful memories that fill my heart. Thankful for the love of my family, and the friends that life gave me."

British singer Dido was born on Christmas Day in 1971. Dido (née Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O'Malley Armstrong) came to the U.S. in 1999 upon the release of her debut album, No Angel, and saw her popularity boom when Eminem sampled her ballad "Thank You" for his 2000 hit song "Stan." She has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide and released her fifth studio album, Still on My Mind, in 2019.

Country music singer Barbara Mandrell made her debut on Christmas Day 1948. Known for hits like "Sleeping Single in a Double Bed" and "I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool," Mandrell won back-to-back CMA Entertainer of the Year awards in 1980 and 1981.

She also beat Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson to win the Academy of Country Music's Entertainer of the Year award in 1981, making her the first woman to win the Trip Crown award, having won top new female vocalist and top female vocalist in 1972 and 1979, respectively.

Of all the birthdays in the world, Humphrey Bogart had to be born on Dec. 25, 1899. One of Hollywood's great leading men, Bogie was known for iconic roles in such films as Casablanca (1942) and The African Queen (1951), for which he won a Best Actor Oscar.

Bogart met future wife Lauren Bacall while filming 1944's To Have and Have Not; their relationship was considered one of Tinseltown's legendary love stories. Bogart died of esophageal cancer on Jan. 14, 1957.
